In India the whole thing is being blown out of proportion by the media... we don't get to watch big brother here but the news channels keep showing snippets of the thing... and hey relax, we know all britishers aren't racist!

WOW... yet another lucky case of rasicm noticed! Why? because the victim is the famed Shilpa Shetty and the situation is the even more controversial Big Brother show. Yet, at this very second, some one "unfortunate" enough to have been born brown/ black is getting a derogatory look in some part ofthe globe. Racism has spread wide and is here to stay!

Ironically, today in every part of the globe, you see an Indian. It shows that we as a race, have mastered the game of adaptation and survival. We are no strangers to racism. True, we don't want to be at the receiving end. But we are no less racist within the country . When in our very own country, different relatives of racism such as casteism and prejudice is ruling... we have but seen it all!

As Indians, we have no rights to blame you English, when we ourselves are lacking in unity. Am not implying that we will continue to lick others' boots with no self respect. All, am saying is, it is rather funny that we make such a big deal of something which is silently staring at us everyday.

However abhorrent these remarks are, Shilpa went into this with her eyes wide open. A successful woman like her should have been able to give back as good as she got. Shetty has to find the attitude and the chutzpah to face the comments - racially pejorative or just downright bitchy - from her 'friends' in the house [because] Big Brother is all about running the other contestants down in order to get on top... or wait, perhaps life itself is that only.

Shilpa will endure it... and for these narrow minded racist pigs who are behaving down right immature, well they will learn too that we as a nation, CAN SURVIVE...

man, its really bad. In this modern world people still think of racism and cast ism. Well its a fault from shilpa side also, why she accepted this offer at all, when she knew that she'll be facing people of different culture. Its really sad, she could have gone for "big boss" instead of channel 4's reality show. This is really annoying. Very bad for India and Shilpa as well.

I agree that its in bad taste but be assured that we are not blaming UK for this behaviour. One person doesn't represent all the people of a country. There may be some people like Goody but then such people exist in all the countries and cultures.

well am not indian but still i felt very bad about shilpa how those 4 ppls treated her terribly..its realli disgusting..immuture way to behave..but its not their fault..they have not been taught by their parents at home how to behave in a social environment,in my opinion malicious and deliberate bullying stemming from their lack of class, illiterate and insecurity..their attitude and behavious towards shilpa stems from pure jealousy..its realli stupid of them to behave like this..its realli shamefull..and i think shilpa doing the right job..if she also start hitting them back and behave immuturely..then there will be no difference between her and them..i realli cant believe it they havent grown up yet..

the matter should not be dropped.....racism is not allowed anywhere and its damn cheap.just because its a reality show doesnt mean anyone can abuse a person on basis of their origin. and i dont see why you have to say nasty things about any race even whites[the person above me]-thats being racist again.
