As a poker player, I always hunt for action. I seek a good gamble for my buck, and I always want a mark at the table.

After gambling for a living for 5 years, what I realized is this... Luck is far more important than action in poker (at least)... Because if you don't get a lucky break every now and again, you are going to lose faith in your skill and determined merit, since it is not being rewarded. Luck reinforces skill, that drives you to make the right plays when you get action.

Luck is not only a tangible thing...it is something that you either have or don't have. If you don't have it, skill will only take you so far...and you either need to be "Lucky" enough to have your own personal networth that allows you to move up to bigger action, or you need to catch "luckier than normal" at the level you are at to move up.

Without luck, a skilled, well disciplined poker player will always go broke hunting the action.

In poker, you don't now how long the short run is going to be... In the long run skill wins out...but no one knows how long it will take to get over the short run luck... So, if you aren't lucky, don't play for the long or the short...

What is more important? Regular meals or once in a while , occasional free chocolate ? Even if you get that free chocolate , it could be that with an old expiry date! That is what Luck is. you may be lucky but it could turn out to be a rotten luck.

The ideal way to look at this is the following.

Take action and do it to the best of your ability. If it turns out the way you expected call it "luck" . That way the chances of you having "luck" will be very high and people will call you a lucky person.

personally, perhaps actions is more important than luck. actions serves as a sure way by which you can achieve success. since you choose what to do or not to do, you can assure yourself of the path you are taking. by what you do, you could also evaluate yourself - you'd know if you've done enough to get to where you want to be. sometimes, you can't just wait for fate to deliver your wishes for you. you have to learn to persevere to reach your dreams. if you remain at a standstill waiting for time to give you things left and right, you wouldn't be able to see much more than what's just laid out in front of you. sometimes the better things in life are the products of constant but well done work.

luck is just like a wild card. you never know what'll happen and when it'll happen. you can't leave your destiny in the hands of luck. it's like diving blindly head on into an unknown place. you never know if things would work out. luck is what you leave to destiny - it's the chance that isn't in your hands. however, one must learn that despite the things you can't control, there are things that you do. that's why, it's best to make do with the opportunities that you got.

For me it is the Action which is important. You can not just wait for your destiny to make the things for you.You always have to act accordingly.According to Bhagwadgitaji Don't think about the fruits but act.Whatever work assigned to you is your duty.We should not blame our luck and sit ideally. We have to act to reach a particular position.

"Stand up ,be bold and take the whole responsibility on your shoulders and mind that you are the creator of your own destiny .All the strength and success that you want are within yourselves."

Swami Vivekanand.

So action is important and not luck.

Action is more important and luck is a bonus. Good luck can push you forward in life more quickly but you can't rely on luck. You can only rely on your own actions and efforts.

Action is more important. However, since our action is neither perfect nor isolated and independent, some luck is always necessary for success. Action never goes waste... even if not successful, it gives an experience and lesson that can come handy for future success.

To answer this first let us understand the difference between truth and trust. The sun rose in the ease today is the truth, the sun will rise in the east tomorrow is mere trust, based on our knowledge and few calculated facts. Another example, a mother is mother the child is the truth and the father is the father of the child is mere trust. Similarly, action is the truth while luck is mere trust. You act, and then you reside a feeling of trust in your minds that it's gonna work. You are lucky if it does work as you wanted, and if doesn't work out your way - you are unlucky.....

Was this lucky enough for you... :-)

Action. There's no such thing as luck. You make your own luck. In some way you draw good fortune or bad fortune to yourself based on what you believe.
