well you know the saying with office politics . if you go be ready to be able to handle what ever comes down the pipe later. could be something there or could just be a one night stand. and can you work together afterwords, think of all these things before you leap. then you won't have to be sorry later.

On the surface, no. A lot of companies frown on this kind of fraternization among employees especially in ranks of management. These companies don't want to deal with potential sexual harassment issues and thus while they cannot forbid it, they frown upon it and train their employees that way.
I would keep your relationship with your supervisor's boss very discrete and basically unknown to anyone else at work.
