There is a point called the "Break Even Point" and once you are past that it becomes very easy to save money and/or invest money to make more money.

The Break Even Point is the amount of money that it takes a person to live in a specific location. Food is basically the same cost for each person to stay alive. Then there is shelter. Cost for Gas and a simple car, etc.

Some people have to work all their hours just to get enough to almost or just get to the Break Even Point. It is very difficult for these people to save or invest money so they never get ahead.

Other people get over the break even point and save a little or invest a little and then they make more money and then that allows them to invest or save more and it just keeps building on itself.

Some times it is just luck that allows people to get past the Break Even point... Other people that are above it get an illness or something that causes them to loose everything and then they are below the Break Even point and they can never get back to a point that they can invest or save money like they did before.
