A used one is only 20 dollars cheaper, and if you buy a new one, let me recommend the special pack with the PSP, a movie, a game, and a memory of 1GB that is about 250 dollars, if you buy them separate it would cost about 275-280 dollars. Also with a New PSP you get the manual and many more.

Buy a used one but make sure it is a 2.80 firmware or under, then you will be able to downgrade it then you can download free games and applications like turning your PSP into a Universal Remote Control.
