My friends and I were thinking of renting a house this summer at the beach. We don't really know where to start though. We aren't limiting ourselves to Rehobeth Beach or Atlantic City, just two spots we thought of. Does anyone have any suggestions on good deals we can find on a kick *** house possibly on the beach we could rent for a week? We don't want to spend too too much but we know we are going to be splurging on this vacation! I would really appreciate any help anyone could give us. And please don't respond by saying look it up on the net or in a newspaper. Duh, I know I can do that. Just want some insider thoughts on this. Thanks!

i live down the shore in jersey, and both Point Pleasant and Seaside are popular towns for beach rentals around here. i guess it depends on what kind of stuff your looking for. we don't have the gambling like AC but you could get there in about an hour from here if you wanted and it's gotta be cheaper here although i've never priced it out. as far as Pt.Pleasant Vs. Seaside, I think Pt.Pleasant is a nicer town, but the boardwalk is bigger in Seaside Hights and they have more clubs and that kinda stuff...but you could split the difference anyhow since it only takes like 20 minutes to go between Pt. and Seaside anyhow. Great Adventure is in driving distance over in Jackson too if you like that kind of thing. I hope thats helpful. hope u have fun.

AC is not beautiful, it's a skanky hole. 1 block off the boardwalk is where the bad neighborhoods start. You should be safe as long as you stay near the boardwalk. The beach is ok, certainly not the nicest in the state. Everything there is all about the casinos. The boardwalk is also ok, again, not the nicest in the state, because of all the casinos. Ocean City is a much nicer family place if you want to do the whole beach and boardwalk thing. I also like Seaside Heights.
