I would advise him to seek marital counselling. As you described the relationship it does not sound healthy by any means. She doesn't sound like she has much respect for the sanctitiy of a marital union let alone her husband, the one she is supposed to love above all other human beings. This isn't something you can answer for him, only he knows what is in his heart and what he feels inside, if he leaves too early and calls the marriage quits he will be plagued with doubts, if he stays and tries all he knows how and it doesn't work at least he can walk away knowing that he exhausted all his options. It takes two people to make a marriage, not just two but two giving 110 % not just 50/50, both have to give all their efforts to make it work. This is one of those times your friend has to do what it is in his heart he feels he needs to do, we nor you can answer this question for him. Just be there to support him in the decision he does decide on. My opinion though on the description on the woman is that she does have some very selfish motives for being with him and has little to no respect for him, if she does she isn't doing ot well at showing it...but again that is something they have to fix. We cannot fix this one for him, and there isn't a simple yes or no answer to this question. My advise is to be his friend and support him in whatever decision he makes whether to stay or go.

Leave now, the longer he stays with him, the harder it will be for him to part with her. If that happens and they do part, he will suffer more depression than he would have if he had split up earlier. Also make sure he is the one that initiates the break-up so he knows that he is over her and not that she is over him.

That is not a healthy relationship. your friend is being used and should probably get out of that relationship soon. She isn't worth it if he is that good and she is equally rotten. Tell him to get out of that relationship.
