There are several types of erector muscles in the human body. Some at the base of the hairs, some on the spine, most heart muscles, intestinal muscles and many others.
Erector muscles are muscles that make a certain organ or part erect. For example, when your hair feels like it is standing on end, the hair erector muscles are holding the hairs in an erect position.
Most erector muscles work autonomously, without our conscious involvement in their functioning.
