The voice does not necessarily go with preference. I know men, that have a true 'squeaktoy' voice but are definitely and distinctly hetero. I know others that their homosexuality would be a real surprise to many because of the 'normal' and presumably heterosexual voice. If I were only going by voice and gestures, I would have guessed Cary Grant, not Rock Hudson, as the homosexual if one of them was--I would be completely wrong for Rock was and Cary wasn't. I had a college professor that was and you could guess it after a while from his voice but not his manner. His partner didn't show it in his voice, but his manner was about as limp-wristed and wiggle-bottomed as to help define the stereotype. I had a friend who was a missionary who left a long marriage with a great wife, and their two kids (nearly grown at that time) to live with a man. Yet I know another, a children's minister, whose voice and effeminant manner make some parents reluctant to leave their kids in his care, but his wife affirms that he is anything but what the stereotype guesses.
Voice won't determine it, so don't use it as an indicator.

I'll agree... not always, but sometimes. It's best to not make assumptions about people based on the way their voices sound, but for some reason some of us have odd sounding voices.
Someone first made note of my somewhat effeminate sounding voice in 2nd grade... so I'm quite sure it isn't something I was ever trying to do, it's just natural for me. Why? I have no idea.

It is fairly difficult, since we do not really know whether someone is homo or hetero sexual when we talk to them.
I have know people that as far as I know are straight, who talked with what generally would be considered feminine sounding voices. I can however not say for sure if they are homosexual, since it is not a question that I ask of everyone I meet.
I must assume that it is possible for straight men to have feminine sounding voices.
I am gay (homosexual).

The way a persons voice sounds has nothing to do
with them being Homosexual.
Being homosexual comes from within a person.
I'm a Straight Female, and I know that.
You might want to leave it alone.

I think I know what our friend is trying to get at. Sometimes you will be looking at someone and thinking because of they way they move or act that they might be gay, and then you hear them talking and you just *know* that they are gay.
The question is, are there guys who talk like that who actually aren't gay?
Your gut tells you they are gay. Can your gut be wrong? My personal feeling is that my gut hasn't been wrong. At least not yet!
