I think as long as people are taught to hate and discriminate we will never be close.

If you go to the largest and newest cities with the best economies you will see the closest thing to an egalitarian racism free world. San Francisco, LA, San Jose, San Diego, Seattle, and maybe even Vancouver.
The big problem to seeing this all over the world is that there is no physical way to naturally create diversity in most of the globe. Europe is full. There are 1 billion Chinese people in china and 1.3 billion Indians in India. These countries will never have diversity like the US. There is nowhere in China to fit 300 million Caucasians, 300 million Africans, 200 million Latinos, 100 million Indians, 150 million Japanese, etc....
Most of the world will remain ethnically undiverse. The diversity will be found in the new countries that have room to grow and healthy economies that attract immigrants. The US, Australia, Canada, Russia, Argentina, Brazil and a few others.
Once you have an ethnically diverse group that focuses on economic growth together then you start to build an egalitarian racism free society. It comes down to the simple fact that economic growth cares about productivity and making dollars. It doesn't give a fiddle about race.

Until we make a significant commitment (including financial) to improving the social, physical and educational conditions in which many minorities in this country, let alone the world, live we will not have an egalitarian, racism free world.
And second, our economy depends on their being winners and losers. And sadly, the losers are more often non-white. I'm not saying I condone this, but is a reality of the world we live.

In the last half century I have seen remarkable changes and if it keeps up at the same pace I would say within the next 75 to 100 years.

We aren't, and we never will be.
For as much as I have no use for racism, I respect that it is an individual choice, and I believe that people have a fundamental right to be racist or egalitarian, whichever they choose.

I wouldn't call us "close" but the very fact that it is now universally acknowledged as an issue is a good and promising sign.

a step closer, but still far away!!! i live near a town that still doesnt allow black people to live there, if one moves in they will run them off!!! that is so terrible, i hate the fact that we are so fixated on races, everyone race has their own group and sterotypes!!! it really sucks!!
