So I took it back and got another one, same problem, the light comes on but it won't link with the system. What is goin on, please tell me.

With the Xbox 360 wireless controllers you need to associate the wireless controller with the the 360 console so that the console will recognize the wireless controller.

All you need to do to associate the controller with the 360 is turn on both the 360 and wireless controller. Push the small round connect button on the front on the 360 then push the connect button on the front edge of the controller.

If successful the ring of light should spin around one time on both the the controller and 360. After, one of quadrants of the ring of light should remain lit which will indicate the controller position.

Is it a 360 controller? The XBX controller won't link up with the 360.

If it's a 360 controller from a 3rd party that might explain why. Most 3rd party items don't work on the consoles because they don't know the consoles as well as the makers. Nintendo has a policy of putting their seal of approval on 3rd party items if they meet Nintendo's quality assurance.

You have to sync them together. There's a little white dot you can puch in right next to the LB trigger. There's also one on the 360. Press both, and it should connect, if not. Hmm...you've got me
