and before you say it, i mean cuts themselves on purpose. and if you do think that, then do you still hate emo ppl or think they're whiny brats or whatever?

No, I think they have issues that need to be addressed. Everybody has something going on whether they admit it or not.

I do think they're emo if they purposely cut themselves because some people just do it for style purposes but some people actually have problems with cutting. and the problem is like, too actual. But I don't think emos are whiny brats, most "emo" people I know are nothing like that, they're always doing things, out having fun, they don't care what others think about them. I say it's OK to do things but not to an extreme degree.

I think the term "emo" is bullshit. If I cut myself, it's because I'm angry, frustrated, messed up, even. Don't get me wrong. I'm emotional. I cry sometimes. But I'm not incapable of being happy and enjoying life. And I don't think it's cool to be angry, dark, pouty (whatever people think emo kids are) nor do I think it's cool to cut yourself. But I can understand it because I did it for a long time. It was just how I dealt with stuff.

not all ppl that cut themselves are emo i have looked stuff up about this it is more like a sickness its not like they are doing it for the fun of it why is it the emo kids are the only ones classified in cutting themselves....Its is kinda like ppl commiting suicide there is no category in which they go by **** happens not just to emo kids we all have our problems but i would never do this

I have known alot of people who were cutters and they were far from "emo" - we are talking like years before the term "emo" was even established. cutting is a psychological issue - not a mopey, poor sense of fashion, bratty, whiney thing.

I know many people including myself who cut them selfs..and none of them emo.

To me a emo person is some one who dress in black and hangs around the font of boarders ( a book store here in adelaide) and is trying to be cool.

of corse not other people cut themselves aswell not just emo's.and i have nothing against anyone and emo's just expess themselves in thier own way so good for them:)
