Not talking about the ones int he middeast. The majority of muslims in SE Asia are the ones i am referring too.

I said they are good , hospitable, welcoming, warm, friendly.... and they, true to their character, kept saying well you must have paid them, you must have did something, they only like american money......
Truth is over there American European Australian is all the same. Your treated the same. As long as you dont act like an Arrogant american ***hole and and be respectful of their customs then it is an absolute fantastic time to be had.

They are wonderful people.

Sure they have had some civil unrest... its a fledgling democracy suffering with a few growing pains.
La erupts at least 2 times every ten years it doesntmeant he US is bad... its all perspective

Republicans are too dumb and inarticulate to express their grievances with the Muslim world, so you just end up with these cranky reactions. The most-used reaction is "Muslims are crazy." That statement seems to suffice for most of them, so any actual thinking of *why* or *how specifically* they are crazy never gets expressed. Besides, Americans (and Republicans especially) have never been well-known for expressing an intellectual stance.

What's unfortunate about Republican reticence to confront the Muslim world ideologically is that there definitely *are* some legitimate complaints that need to be addressed. And sadly, the Democrats aren't much better, being that they're somewhat captive to multiculturalism. That stance doesn't help either. We should be able to tell the Muslim world *exactly* what's wrong with them and to throw some of their own B.S. right back in their faces.

But then of course, we'd have to start behaving logically. That could be a problem.

It's a bit hypocritical of you to generalize about Republicans and then criticize republicans who generalize about Muslims, don't you think?

(Not very intelligent, either. It exposes your bias.)

The reasons why Muslims are seen as violent (scratch the words "nice" and "not nice") has to do with the fact that, as we speak, Muslim groups all over the world are slaughtering innocents by the hundreds.

Um, that would include Muslims in SE Asia, like Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

(Oops, again, not very intelligent of you to overlook these things, huh?)

You see, it's all about perspective. Almost all people hate murderers. In fact, it's nearly unanimous. So, who's the arrogant a$$hole who disagrees and tries to rationalize and pretend that it has no effect on the way we should respond?

I'm a Republican and I don't get mad. I know many Muslims that are a part of my unity group. There's only a small group of right-wingers who 'hate' Muslims just as there is a small group of left wingers who hate Christians. It's just the idiots of the bunch that do it though.

Believe it or not, there's also Republican Muslims out there. :)

The answer has to do wit brainwashing.... the Republic party's goal is to convince the public that all ppl of the nation of Islam are evil. Bush himself last August stated, "We are at war with Islamic fascists." He didn't say extremist. He said fascists which some would argue he meant all of Islam.

My pt is that it is clear that is his goal... to demonize Muslems and to demonize them in order for the masses to hate them.

The bottom line is that if you think about the large number of muslems in this country... not one has committed a suicide bombing since Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq.

Why? Because Muslems overall are not bad ppl.

I'm a republican and I don't get mad. It isn't a matter of political party, it's a matter of personal opinion.

Because it hurts their interest if there's anything that will expose their efforts of demonizing people. People like VA Rep Goode, Pat Robertson and the likes get fearful that the truth may be coming out.

Moderate people, no matter their political preference, will agree that Muslims are nice people. Only extremists think otherwise, whether they are republican or not.
