The only reason for one world government is to equalize the planet in a world communism. This means simply, the elite will be the dactatorship of the proletariat in Marxian terminology.
All that will happen in that set up is the most ruthless person will take over in the manner of a Stalin...and the world will pay the price.
Will I fight it?
I will light the first fuse.

It won't work. There are so many cultures that in fighting would bog everything down. The larger the country, the more disenfranchise minority groups would be. The government would be fractured. A person would be lost in the masses and feel they can't do anything. Smaller government like monaco, san marinoa, singapore, Hong Kong and the benelux countries does well in various surveys of countries. That is because the smaler the government, the more in touch they are to the people and that corruption is more manageable and the government is more transparent to the people. The lack of competion of countries also would cause corruption and abuse to sky rocket. With out the Soviet Union pointing the flaws of America, THe US has spiral out of control and become more agressive and corruption has risen. People would also lack choose. If you don't like ayour government, you have an opportunity to flee to another.

No way!!!! on the one world government. If American citizens didn't fight it we would no longer be "AMERICAN" citizens. How would life be if we lived under a government with leaders like the ones in North Korea, Syria, Iran, Cuba etc. etc.etc. or even the corrupt UN officials? That would make up quite a governing body wouldn't it? The US government isn't perfect but it is the oldest surviving democracy and we should be proud of it and protect it.

Governments operate in part due to the fact that their people are generally of the same culture and beliefs. How else could they make meaningful laws and policies? I am referring to representative governments without dictatorship of any kind. But I don't see it working. Look at the UN. Their responsibility and authority is somewhat limited yet they suffer major problems trying to get so many cultures together.

Some day the real human being will evolve, the real measure of maturity and wisdom will dawn: and then, we will all unite together in minds, in tastes, in cultures, and live together, laugh together, love one another -- and, accept a one-world government! That will indeed be a very beautiful day, the day for which man has lived, toiled, cried, suffered, sacrificed, fought, and yearned for all these hundreds of years of human existance and evolution! Thank you for the nobility in the thought behind the question!

How will it be set up?
Will it be a Confederation of nation-states, with a central power set up much like today's United Nations, where every country vows allegiance to that central power, but works more for the benefit of their own country?
Will it be ruled by one of the current nations, who impose that rule on the others?
Will it be a representative republic, where each country elects representatives to a global council that has been split into two different houses? Will each country have the opportunity to vote for a global leader, who in turn will choose judicial representatives, who must be approved of by each country's representatives, that will act as a check against both the representatives and the global leader?
Will it be a theocracy, ruled by a council of elders from each existing religion? (Scary thought, I hope it will not be this one.)
Will it be fascist empire, controlled by a paranoid lunatic who has his/her eye on everything we do? Will he/she have equally despicable minions governing each nation, ensuring the masses are working for whatever ends he/she has dreamed up?
Depending on what form of government this New World Order were to have, I could agree with its existence. I do not believe, however, human nature, or more to the point, human pride, is ready for such a world.

As crl529 said, cultural difference alone make it impossible. Think about it. Here in the US (and most western nations) we would expect a democracy or a democratic republic. Many middle-eastern nations would want a theocracy run my an ayatollah or imam. I see a huge problem forming already and I've only mentioned two cultures.

The pros is that there is unified nation conspiring together to bring about higher standard of living through control of all public utilities and natural resources for the common good. there is be peace and prosperity at least for limited period. the cons is that the rich and the wealth have place in one world government and there totalitarian control.

It's not on one world government.
Just universal living.
Undertanding our purpose of life and our existence in planet of apes.
America will still be America.
The same with others too.
Understand the existence of our creator in planet of apes.
Not in doing things at own whims and fancy.
Until we self annihilate and become self extinction in planet of apes.
What went wrong out there is for the survivors with their children from after world war two the last descendant of this generation who must solve the challenges left behind by our creator for us to solve for the good of mankind.
When we can hit the home-run.
The young ones will be able to move up to the next higher level in planet of apes.
If we don't make it we have to kiss all our little ones good-bye when they all will be lost in space forever in planet of apes.
Is'nt life is interesting and challenging and worth living too?
So try to make it to the home-run.

It is an unachievable ideal. We bicker too much.
Hell the US spent months renaming French food because they didn't support our flimsy case for starting WW3.
We can not unite until we make Faith a seperate issue from Government.
Doesn't anyone watch Southpark?
