Well, you may not know the entire story...
Unfortunately a lot of families have to make some tough decisions when it comes to caring for their aging loved ones.
She may have been requiring a lot of care, she may have had medical bills that medicare does not cover.... this is tough stuff.
It is always sad and confusing for the elderly but sometimes adult children have to put their parents in assisted living or care facilities and end up being required by their state and sometimes the federal government to sell their parents houses in order to pay for their care.
It is not fare at all but I have seen it happen time and time again.
I would not be so quick to judge.

If the older lady does not have possession or legal title to the house, she has no choice but to comply with owner of the house.

Otherwise the elder lady has a case. Call any law firm in your area. Usually the first call is free.

If the lady was forced to leave the house which belong to her, a criminal offence is committed. You only need an attorney for civil cases. For criminal cases, just report to the Police.

There could be all kinds of reasons she was taken away...one being that she could no longer care for herself and her daughter wasn't able to care for her. Selling the house would probably go towards paying for the elderly woman's care.

Call Adult Protection Services. Every city should have one. If you can not find a number call your local police department they can give you the number.

Call the police. Let them sort it out. It might be something and it might be nothing. That's what they get paid for. If you suspect foul play, there's no harm in having it looked at.
