I've always had luck with a program called "Ghost", runs between $35 and $80 depending on what you get with it.

Try Norton Ghost. It will create a backup copy of your drive's contents, then saves it somewhere on your C:\ Drive, however, I suggest that you save it on a spare partition, or a CD, and then have a separate backup for your data files.

If you have an external hard drive, most of them come with software for making up your main drive.
