I bought a couple of marriage licenses over the years that turned out to be pretty useless.

I've had buyer's remorse over a lot of small purchases, but not really any big ones. I try to avoid the buyer's remorse cycle by thinking long and hard about major purchases and doing my homework on them. My wife hates the fact that I take a long time to make decisions about even small purchases, but I apply the same concepts to basically everything that I buy. Unfortunately, it means that I often waffle back and forth on whether I should buy a $40 item, sometimes for longer than it would take me to make the $40 necessary to buy it.

I had buyer's remorse after we bought our house; it just seemed like so much work and so overwhelming to maintain it and get it set up how I wanted it that it seemed easier to rent a place than to own one. I've pretty much settled in now, though, and I like having my own place and my own property that no one can tell me what to do with.

first remorse I have is...I hate where I live. I bought a house in this small town...it sucks here.
My second buyer's remorse is the minivan I bought. Never again.

I view my misdirected purchase of a mobile home when I first left home as a tremendous learning experience (even though my father saw it as a "failure"). I learned what not to do, and a year later sold it for approximately what I had bought it for. I had thought the mobile home would be "perfect", but it was in an isolated area and too much responsibility for first leaving home. After selling, I rented for 3 to 4 years. After learning from my mobile home experience what I didn't want, I was much smarter in my second purchase.
