I am Jamaican, but I have always avoided dancing when I was little, I do not know why. But I now want to start dancing and I do not know how! I wanna start dancing to dancehall and stuff, but the dances look really hard; does anyone have any good tips for me?

The way I see it u got about 4 choices...
1)get an instructional video...
2)watch music videos...
3)watch your friends...
4)ask someone to teach you.
You can buy Passa Passa dvds, or actual instructional dvds such as How Fi Dance Reggae or All About Dancing online. Good luck!

PS...yeah, some of the dances are hard but just practice and you'll be fine.

Most danchall music videos can be used as dancing instructions. Start with something easier like "wacky dip", then get to more complicated like "tic toc" or "hulla hoop", i would leave "dutty wine" the the end. Just watch the video at home and dance to it trying to copy the moves. Don't give up if it doesn't look too nice at the start. Practice makes perfect.

Dress smartly. Smile politely when a man asks you to dance. Let him lead. Continue to smile while you dance. You'll have a great time and pick it up quicker than you'd think.

Best of Luck on your new endeavour.
