For a laptop...freeware or shareware
I just need it to keep my computer from going into standby

NOTICE: just answer the question..
Lol..other options like changing the display settings and whatnot are not working i just need a program to move the mouse around for a laptop

this is a freeware program at www.download.com
but to get rid your computer standby entirely, right click on your desktop > Properties > Screen Saver > | In the rectangle which has Monitor Power | click Power
Turn off monitor, set to never
Turn off hard disks, set to never
System standby, set to never

Lol, there's those alarm clock things that you can use so that your computer basically wakes up every now and then. Use a search engine to find one or go to www.download.com and look.
Those are better. ;P
But I think if you go to the battery icon (if you have one) on your task bar, then right click and find the options, there should be an option to never shut off when the computer is unattended. It worked for me before. Actually, I used it a lot when I wanted to leave it.
