Seem to remember a pie-chart sort of thing showing memory used and memory left. How do I access this please?

Thankyou.

Some of you are mentioning memory and some hard drive space. The reason I ask is because BT are saying that I downloaded 16gb last month and my limit is 6gb.
According to the hard drive (pie chart in properties) I have only used 13gb so don't see how this is possible. I rarely download anything.

You must be thinking about your Hard Drive when you think of a pie chart.

Go to MY COMPUTER, click, and then right-click on your HARD DRIVE. Scroll down to PROPERTIES and click. You'll see the pie chart.

Its a good idea to do a disk cleanup, as well as a disk defragmentation every now and then to keep your disk at high operating efficiency.

If you are asking about the computer system memory, you should hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and see the taskmanager. It will tell you how much of your memory is being used and how much is free. Remember that this is dynamic, so the information is really not of much use for most users.

Memory or hard drive space?

The pie chart you are talking about is hard drive space, where you store your files. Go to My Computer, right click on C: and pick Properties. Memory is something totally different.

If it is a desktop pc you can easily add a memory stick. This time of year Staples and other office supply stores will have memory on sale. Just be sure to take the make and model of your pc with you. Make sure your pc is powered off and unplugged. Once you have it...open your pc and you will see the existing memory. There will be a place to pop in the new memory stick. When you reboot it will see your new memory and you should be good to go. Sounds like you have already cleaned off files you don't use or need. Good Luck!

If you mean space on your hard drive, then right click on Start on the bottom left hand of your screen, then chose Explore and then click on C: Local and then right click on Properties. You will see a chart of how much space is used and how much you have free..

You can go to my computer then go to c drive right click and go propites. This is for xp only. For 98 you go to my computer go to harddrive and left click once and on the left side there should be a little screen and you can scroll down and it will show the total disk space and how much you have used and how much is open.

people, pay attention. the subject is MEMORY, not hard drive space. you cannot get that from computer properties in "my computer".

-----

you can get it by right clicking on the task bar and opening the task manager from the context menu.

click the performance tab, and it will show you total, avalable and system cache physical memory in the lower right hand corner just below the graphs.
