they are the same ..
companies which manufature them are nvidia and ati ..

some people usually refer to built in chipset on the motherboards as videocards .. and the one inserted into the slots as graphics cards..

They're the same thing. Two terms for the same thing. Video card = Graphic card.

One is called a Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) and one is called a Visual Processing Unit (VPU) and they are exactly the same thing.

I just had to get fancy!
