Well my fave is Pride and Predjudice and Bridget Jones is based on P&P and I feel like Bridget most days so through degrees yes there is a sameness.

i've often wondered this. i read too many books to pick a favourite, but my favourite film is 'amelie' & i can actually see parallels between the main character & myself, especially at the time i first watched it (except for the fact that audrey tatou is freaking gorgeous!)
although i can also imagine that your favourite film/book would reflect who you WANT to be, rather than who you already are. i mean, isn't that why little girls watch princess movies & guys seem to love ultra-violent macho films?
ha. i'm hoping someone will say 'silence of the lambs' or 'texas chainsaw massacre' is their favourite movie.
