Throughout my life I have been blessed. I'm healthy, fairly intelligent, have amazing friends and I am a pretty good athlete. One thing that makes me wonder is that throughout my life I have had this amazing luck. I hit a grandslam in my first babe ruth game and then continued to strike out for the rest of the season. When I was in school if I didn't do a homework assaignment it would always be a day when the teacher would get sick and I would have an extra day. My friends tended to get mad at me but they persevered. Another thing is that I'm a great lyer. I passed a polygraph test twice when we knew I was quilty(don't worry I'm not a murderer my uncle is a cop). These things make me wonder, our some people born with greatness? What do you guys think?

Patrick O, maybe what you're really great at is optimism. You can put a positive spin on most things in your life, even passing a polygraph test when you know that you are lying. However, life has taught me that the greatest people are not the ones who always get away with it, or everything goes well for them. Some of the best, highest quality people are the ones who learned their lessons the hard way. Plus, people who have been there, done that are generally humble and have great compassion for those who are weak.

I think I am destined for greatness ... but how do you define 'great'?

Personally, I don't think being a successful liar is great. I don't think getting lucky on the days you didn't do your homework is great either. These things might teach you that you can get away with things ... and it might bight you in the behind one of these days. That would definitely not be great.

But I do think the first things you mentioned can help you be great! Health, intelligence, and friends are a definite plus. Perhaps you were born with these things, and perhaps you will be great. Just stop the dishonesty, okay?

Being a pathological liar does not make one great, just a liar. You can get away with some lies, but someone will always find you out..

And I think if you were born with greatness and fairly intelligent, like you claim, you would at least use spell check and know the difference between the words "are" and "our".

I agree with you one hundred percent dude. You just basically described me. It is like, no matter what, it seems like I just always dodge the bullet. Always. No matter what I get into, everything twists and contorts its way into making sure it works out ok- almost like this hand descends from above and puts all the pawns into place. I'm serious, I think about this all the time. I don't think you are born with greatness, actually, but you are born with the capacity to be great. See you at the White House.

There's nothing wrong if some people think that they are destined for greatness. I for one think that I'm heading for something amazing. Greatness is just a state of mind. If you feel that you're one. then so be it - you're great.

If I may borrow your own words, I think you're a great liar.
Make that a terrible liar.
