Try putting a pillow between your knees when lying on your side, anything that aligns your hips it will put less pressure on your back

Well, I can totally relate to that feeling! It could be that your baby is sitting right on your bladder, and it is causing you to have to get up every few hours to use the bathroom. Ever have the feeling that when you sneeze you are going to urinate on yourself? Oh, what a great feeling that is!

I always felt like I was suffocating because my nose was soooo swollen, and my sinuses were dry; that made me restless as well. You may want to try putting a humidifier in your room with you to ease that discomfort, too. I even had to put those snore-relieving bandages on my nose (whatever those things are called) to open up my sinuses, too.

Something else to consider...your baby is sleeping while you are moving during the day because your movement basically rocks the baby to sleep. At night, the baby is not getting "rocked to sleep" because you are in bed being rather still.

Taking a stroll after dinner is a great way to get yourself to sleep at night, too...remember that exercising helps you rest better at night.

Try not to eat really late either. If you are experiencing heartburn, it's probably because you ate too close to bedtime. If you're experiencing extremely discomforting heartburn for two or more days in a row, a terrible headache, swelling in your face, and an all-over sick feeling, it would probably be a good idea for your doctor to test your blood pressure, since this is also a sign that you may have the beginning of toxemia.

Restlessness is just part of the joy of pregnancy, though...it will prepare you for the restless nights you will have with your newborn! :)

lol, get used to it hun! it will be that way as you get bigger and bigger until you give birth....then you will still not sleep because you will be up all night feeding your newborn. I'm not trying to be mean, just realistic. You'll be sleep deprived until your baby can sleep through the night. For now, take a nice shower, get a massage, use pillows to support yourself, always lay on your left side...it helps the blood flow better. Good luck! Being a mommy is tough!

When I was pregnant with my son my doctor told me I could actually take Ambien, but since I had 3 miscarriages before he was born I wouldn't risk it. What really helped me was listening to relazation CDs. My mother in law got them for me when I first found out I was pregnant. By the time the CD was over I was out like a light.

40 weeks and borderline exhaustion now from not sleeping since November. I sympathize. My doctor did say that I could take Benedryl, I jst never did. Sometimes I'm wide awake other times i find myself dosing and when i "wake up" it feels like I had been sleeping for hours. I wish I could say that it went away but mine did not. I hope yours does. Congratulations on your mommy-to-be status, and good luck.

Take a bath or shower and use lavender scented baby lotion afterwards. Then prop yourself up in bed with pillows and a good book. That's what I did.
