What is time?
Daylight savings (moving the clock an hour back) proves that Time as a function of the hands of a clock is just what we have imposed on the natural world. However this can be taken to the greater extent of day/night cycle, seasons and revolutions around the sun in so much as our measurement of it has formed discreat units of time. But that dose not explain what time is.

Is time a force which can be discribed and measured or is a function of something greater than ourselves, or even could it just simply be the way that our brains percive an event (each action following the last in a sequence we call a timeline).

If all time is is just a way for our brains to process an event then could it not be possible to travel through time just by thinking?
Or if time is a function of something larger than ourselves, what?
Or if time is a force created by our universe then could it not be harnessed and used the way we use other forces?

Please explain your answers. Thank you

The last is first.

Einstein postulated theories on time as related to the speed of light. Scientists, scholars, Mathemeticians & others of note have tried to advance the theory that IF you could travel faster than the speed of light, time would change. No one yet has been able to provide adequate answers. Otherwise the proverbial "TIME MACHINE" would be a reality.

For people of earth TIME is only a measurement related to & necessary for comparisons of our location on earth at any given point in time.

I am not a psychic & am not sure what to think about how much capability the human brain, (the most sophisticated & underused computer in the world), has to interact or interpret or whatever you want to call it with time.

I DO KNOW that when I was in the 7th grade, The Father of an 8th grade boy, (his only son), dreamed days in advance of the eighth grade student would be in deadly danger if the boy borrowed an old 22 rifle from a neighbor. HE WARNED THE BOY. As young men & women are prone to do as they try to express their emerging independence, the boy borrowed the gun & went duck hunting with a friend. When he pulled the old gun from the truck the safety failed & he was shot in the head.
Meanwhile, at the very second the boy was shot, his older sister was hosting a sleepover with 4 close friends. She stopped what she was saying in mid sentence & said, "MY GOD, (I will call him John) JOHN HAS BEEN SHOT & immediately walked outside their rural home & waited for the truck.
Sure enough, in just a few moments, the boy who was duck hunting with him brought John home. My question to this day is how a human mind could possibly SEE into the future.
Secondly, did his older sister know in some way that JOHN could not be saved & willed the other lad to bring him home. Emergency Trauma services were much closer to where they were hunting than to JOHNs home.
HOW did her mind connect in time with another. Over time there have been so many thousands of documented cases of such rare events that there can be little doubt that the human brain possesses already some not understood factor that does allow for humans to occasionally "HARNESS TIME".
It is a pleasant thought that time as scientifically thought of & in reality is simply an unchangeable constant, but some or all humans can go beyond any scientific explaination.
I know that a lot of claimed psychic & paranormal ability is bunk.
However, the story I told about John really happened. The family was my family's closest friends & our parents often wondered who's kids were their own & who belonged to the other family. Everyone knew where to find a kid if they weren't around; At the other family's house. Nothing similar has ever happened to me before or since, but I would take a lie detector test & swear before a judge as to the truthfulness of the story. So would four other witnesses & the relatives of the man who owned the old gun. IT IS NEVER DISCUSSED IN JOHN'S family.
But the Local high school dedicated their very large trophy display case to JOHN & has a brass engraved plate with his picture on it.
What do you make of my answer. I think that every human already has some innate ability that is more than the sum of scientific postulation. I think our brains are like the scientific explaination for time. It may be studied forever but it is beyond logical explaination. A wonderful thing to consider.

If a tree falls in a forest and nobody was their to hear it would it still make a sound?
I am going with the tree still makes a sound.

Time-is the measurement of the rate of build up and/or dispersion of energy. (summed up nicely)

Although I lived yesterday does it exist in a form that I could travel back to in the future?
If time is measured as a concept of moments between memories time travel seems plausible. But than time would only exist when some one is their to measure(Ron Mallet). As to using my mind to manipulate time(slow/fast) I believe it is possible to the extent to your perception and yours alone. To travel to different day, year, or month, no.
But I know the world and universe were created long before I was born so time has existed before any of a memories were ever measuring time. My logic compels me to say no to time travel. But logic compeled man to believe the sun revolved around the earth at one time. So my answer is yes one day, eternal youth looks good as well.
Will I be here to experience the temptation of changing my past? LOL But than who would I become if everything that has made me, me is different.

Time is merely a way to keep control on the events in life. You will
really get the true meaning of time if you try to imagine life without time. It would be alot harder to remember birhtdays, anniversaries, etc; The world itself would descend into chaos in about a week.

Time is God. It is the only thing that truly humbles man.

Time is point perfect. All possibilities happen. Time, therefore, is chance, possibility, miracle what have you...

If all possibilities happen, in one reality you live the longest possible time, and in another you live the shortest... Therefore, you are not one being...you are a mode of time. And when we learn to hop from one mode to the next...we will begin to once again control the machine.

I like to think of Time as how long God has been trying to solve pi, since chaos gave him the riddle of 22 divided by 7...and as his answer expanded, so did the universe...and as he tried to finalize his answers, he created sphere after sphere after sphere, in search of a perfect circle...in the quest to solve pi.

It's just a way that mankind has come up with to bring some order to our being here.

A bench mark if you will to keep the passing of events in some sort of order.

First, second, last etc.

be counted is what makes you me and extremely just about each and every thing else which may well be considered touched or smelled dark be counted is in basic terms the call they provide to something that they haven't any thought what that's, so as that they call it dark be counted using fact it doesnt work together with regualr be counted in any respect, the only way all of us understand of it is using fact of its gravitational effects. style of like how all of us understand approximately black holes even inspite of the shown fact that we cant see them yet we stumble on them using fact of their gravity. Antimatter is incredibly the comparable as be counted, in basic terms the charges are reversed so if be counted and anti-be counted come into touch they injury one yet another, and anti be counted isn't imaginary, it is been created interior the laboratory so that's somewhat genuine.

Time is merely a measure of our life on earth before we die for eternity. Time doesn't exist in the afterlife.
