i am a jewellery designer and from my experience NO, there is no platinum in sterling silver. 925 sterling silver jewellery is actually a combination of 92.5% silver and usually 7.5% copper as alloy to increase the life-span of silver as silver in itself is very malliable and soft. Hope this helps.

Is the sun cold? NO. There is no reason for any manufacturer to mix silver, with something that is MORE expensive. At the most, they will mix it with something less expensive, say perhaps copper.

Thats like saying, would you put 20" rims on a Ford Pinto, or Kia Spectra? Or better yet, buy a Toyota, with a Mercedes Benz sign? =D
