If you are looking to dry it out like you would a cold sore, I would recommend powdered alum. Put a little bit on a cotton swab or your finger tip and dab on the fever blister. Tastes like heck, but it will allow it to dry up.

Put preparation H on it. If within the mouth, put the ointment on a small cotton ball, push it towards the cold sore, and go away it there through the night time. The pain is long gone in minutes and the sore shall be gone in 2 to 3 days. The ointment has a mild fish scent and taste however get used to it, it really works great. Education H also works quality for cuts and abrasions, cuts cure time in 1/2.

More than one remedy:
1. Drink plenty of water - sounds non-serious but believe you me, it works. Your system needs to throw out excessive heat accumulated and water is the best.
2. Apply glycerine
3. Take B-complex capsules
4. Of course, apply some mouth ulcer gel

put proxide on it once or twice a day and do it with a cotton swab or tissue and wrinse mouthe with water when done
(how long)continue up to 4 days after you think it looks like its gone

rinse with warm salt water several times a day. Don't swallow it, just rinse. It will help draw it out.
