i think tupac is the best rapper the guys dead n all but even after 10 years his still the highest selling rap artist that just means no other rapper made more money then him selling albums. i dont think any rapper this days can even get close 2 pacs level. ..

I'm thinking people are misunderstanding the question, i could be wrong but i want everyone to at least read this and think about it.

I think most people are going to answer with who there personal favorite is.

I have been a fan and followed hip hop and rap right from the beginning, with artist like DJ Kool Herc, Africa Bambata, The Sugarhill gang, The Electro Street Collections, Ice -T, NWA, Tupac, Biggie, Dre, Snoop, DMX, Eminem. This is just SOME of the greats.

They all have there different styles, different moods, different messages, Tupac for example could be philosophical, Dre and Snoop are more street, DMX philosophy combined with street (although some of his material i find hypocritical). But i listen to what suits my emotional state, (isn't that what music is all about? food for the soul.)

ALL of these rappers have very similar lyrical skills which over lap each other. But Eminem is undoubtedly crowned "THE KING OF RAP"

You might say "but that's your personal choice." and i agree, But the reason i come to this conclusion is because Eminem has all of the above rolled into one incredibly talented rapper. He has the intelligence to produce philosophical material, the emotional hard felt life to produce songs that can reduce you to tears, the abused childhood converted into angry venting, the comical side that makes you laugh combined with the sick minded alter ego 'Slim Shady' that causes shock and anger. Throw in the mix the fact that his lyrics are original and the fact that no rapper has put together such complex rhymes mixed with the 'inside rhyme' and complex syllables that not necessarily rhyme, but just sound alike. There is no other rapper that can achieve all this at the same time.
Eminem's music is hardcore emotional poetry at its finest. And the man will live forever in musical history.
