Those who have responded with religious based answers have likewise skirted the issue of why God created Adam with nipples in the first place.
The response about everyone being female, before the influence of the Y chromosome kicks in, is correct. The nipple has already formed, and it would require energy to remove it, so there is no selective pressure to do so.
The issue could also come under the influence of the theory sexual selection. That is - men without nipples look different, so have not found mates as easily to pass on their genetic material.

Though this may make women's heads swell with pride, i think the reason is that life intially starts as female (with the capacity to reproduce) eventually growing into male or female. In the first case, vestiges remain. Life must have started as hermaphrodites (i hope the spelling is correct)

It is like your appendix, a ' vestigial organ' serves no useful purpose but is there as a 'left over'. Evolution is a very slow process . There are some snakes for instance, that have vestiges of back legs,( they look like little spurs ). , they may eventually disappear over time.

The article below explains why men have nipples. Some men can produce milk and get breast cancer.

There was actually a couple that the father tried to breast feed their child and from the article it did work. Possibly it could have been intended to assist. Sorry that I could not tell you where I saw that article though. Maybe researching man breastfeeding?

No particular use right now, but they haven't gone away yet. These are vestigial structures. It's the same reason why we still have goosebumps on our arms when we are cold, even though we don't have enough hair on our arms for the goosebumps to fluff up the hair and make us warmer.

Because any biological mechanism to suppress the growth of nipples would not have any positive survival value for our species.

WELL.....I don't know about you.......but when I am making love, it sure is a turn on to have my nipples sucked or rubbed....and when masturbating, a nipple twerk here and there sure helps things out. If you are a man who doesn't use his nipples for sexual pleasure/arousement......then either you are gay or too old to feel the pleasure!

It's hasn't, there is just no specific advantage for men who lack them, so there is nothing driving the evolution of "nippless" men.

Its because when you are still an embryo, you are female until a certain time, you start to change into a male, or keep going female. All males were females at one time.
Look up embryo development.
