i need some new songs cause i'm tired of the same oh i dunno 2000 i have on my itunes. anyway, i'm pretty much open to anything except country and screaming head banging stuff. it just has to be sort of melodic and all, and probably something i haven't heard of cause the popular music around today isn't that great.

Anything by the clash, Replacements, or the Pogues. Wilco is definitely worth checking out if you haven't already and Tom Waits is probably the greatest living artist, he may take a few listens to digest, though.

Well, AFI has had some really great albums, but they are hardcore, soooo... yeah. Don't judge just by the past few singles.
Also, try looking at some music from other countries.
L'Arc~en~Ciel is a good j-rock band.
Loreena McKennitt has some cool new-age sorts.

Try some classical, too. There's really neat stuff.
Dvorak's New World symphony has a sort of piratey sound.
Bach did some really awesome organ pieces.

Just look around at some more obscure stuff. You'd be surprised.

A good website to find new music is pandora.com

There's a record label called "Naked Music". It's house music but it's categorized under dance/electronic. Lot's of laidback, party, and chillin' music. Look up these Naked Music Artists and you'll get a variety of house music...Miguel Migs, Aya, and Lisa Shaw. Start there and you'll be opened up to a whole new wave of music you never thought existed. I'm writing a script using this type of music with hopes of bringing house music to the forefront and popularize it...let me know what you think...BIGGENIUS0891@yahoo.com...peace!

Norah Jones is definitely melodic, though she has country influences. Neko Case seems to be popular now among the mainstream-haters, but she is countryish too. Radiohead?
