Well....I've had problem with a change of master Drives....

I doubt it(actually I don't remember) but....If a HardDrive that for some reason isn't available and claims it needs to be formatted....Would it matter if the new Master is NTFS when the old one was FAT32?? would it affect the (probably ntfs) slave drive???

It's weird because even if i switch the old Master back in there....the slave drive still isn't available...

any ideas???

Have you tried changing the master/slave jumpers? Anyway, NTFS could detect FAT32, however FAT32 won't detect NTFS, thus, if you make your new drive a slave, your old drive couldn't detect it. I suggest that you also try adding your new drive to the other IDE interface.

No, you probably have not gotten the Power Cord or the ribbon cable in securely into the slave. You might also want to make sure that you have the jumpers correct. I always us CS (cable select) and place my master at the end of the cable and the slave in the middle, of course the other end goes to the MB. This is EIDE of course. SATA is a whole other smoke. I would still check the jumper on the master and then make sure they are both seen in the BIOS.
Good Luck

i'd only get a application like Norton Ghost, and move the entire partition of your draw close on your slave and be executed with it. in the great, you'll have each record you had previously, interior of a similar position, you gained't lose some thing, and also you gained't ought to re-installation homestead windows, or receive and installation all the updates back.
