If fidel dies... Raul will take over and he is 20 times worse than fidel....no improvements....Cuba ( the people) have always wanted to be an independant nation... if US intervenes , we will want to make it into another Puerto Rico , and thats not in Cuba's plans.

The people can't fight back.. noone will want to accept this but, many of the people there love him....They are in poverty because our country has closed the doors to barter with any other country with the United Nations. It is our fault, and Fidel was not going to be submissive about it anytime soon... But who knows....things can take a different course and by all means a positive one for all.

That is such a fallacy and prediction of the USA, always wanting to interfere in the internal policies of another nation. Here, Castro's body isn't even in the ground and the US is formulating Cuba's policy as "or else".

That is to say, when Castro dies, Cuba will change its direction and follow US's lead or else... Or else could mean regime change. Financing fifth column rebels. Or continued clamping down on their already poor economy.

That all depends on who is his successor. If its one of his relatives, we probably won't make too many efforts to have better relations. If we're lucky the people of Cuba will stage a coup and put a government in place that allows them the freedom of a democartic society
