Emphasize that your cakes are made individually and since they are not made in advance they can be customized for clients. Go to a bakery and see what they charge and then add at least 10%.
Do a "baking for the clueless class" and give away your business cards. Give away coupons to your students that will allow them or a friend/family member to receive 10% off the cost of their first order.
Give away the 10% off coupons to other friends and family.

In UK there are a lot of rules to be followed. Apart from the hygiene ones there is a question of labelling. All cakes must have a precise list of all ingredients, amount of each per cake or per 100 gm. the amount and percentage of fat, sugar, salt etc.. a list of any additives or colourants. Whether any nuts or allergy type materials are present. I honestly would query whether it was all worth it. Could mum control her baking so the quantities and results were exactly the same every time? You can do what you like at home or give them away but can't sell them. Even the WVS and Mothers Union have had to stop the home made cake sales at fetes and similar because of rules and regulations.

Ok! Im from Australia and know that to sell any kind of cakes to the General public you need a Health Inspection. The food business is very risky as if a customer contracts food poisoning or a disease from contaminated milk, water or ingrediants in the cake you could be sued. But good for you if you wan't to try. Start stocking up on supplies you will need, with lessons, plan them so you can buy ingredients early. With prices make them affordable and present your items nicely. This is a surefire way of business. Advertising is important too, start by handing out fliers to your friends and their families, this is a way to become popular with your local communnity. To set up a shop you will basically need:
-A display cabinet with an internal cooling system to keep displayed cakes fresh
- A large fridge to store customers cakes until they are collected
- A large oven is useful for baking 2 cakes at once
- A nice fresh airy classroom style kitchen for your lessons
- A large pantry to stock ingredients
- A till
- Good quality equiptment
- A large airy kitchen
- A few employees to help if you get ovverrun with customers

Well it's a great idea. Wish you all the best. Why not you print out flyer with details of types of cakes and their prices and sell them from your hse. Paste this flyers on bus stops, buildings or bill boards and pass some to your family, frens. Or to be on the safer side, sell it like stall concept. I am not sure if tis is practical in india but here in M'sia this is one way to expand the business and make money.
