Have you considered giving birth in a birthing center? This would most likely be with a midwife instead of a doctor. You wouldn't be able to use pain meds, but the fear of the hospital would be taken care of. I think the most important thing for you to do right now is to figure out why you are so afraid of hospitals. Facing this fear will help you a lot. Also, What is it that scares you the most about birth? I know you only have a few weeks to figure these things out. It will help you so much to be calm and relaxed during birth. Feel free to email me, maybe I can help a little. The least I can do is give you some stories from friends of mine who have had the most amazing experience with birth. Maybe they could help calm you. Good luck, and congratulations

No I don't cry, they make it look so easy. Many women are in labor for days not a neat 1 hour program with commercial breaks. Child birth is a trial of love. Bless the mothers out there.

Yes I do! I love "A Baby Story"! My 2 year old caught me crying once and started crying because he thought I was hurt!

I saw this MTV True Life episode called "I'm adopted", and this girl was giving her child up for adoption- she was crying and shaking so bad that she couldn't even the sign the papers : ( I never cried so hard in my life! But I can't find it on-line anywhere!

Nope. It reminds me of when I had my daughter ......... and THE PAIN! OH THE PAIN! They had to use a vaccuum on me since my daughter was not coming out with the top of her head first (she was more like ear coming out first because her head was bent to the side).... let me just put it this way - 20 stitches down below. I tore into my 2nd layer of tissue. Hurt like h e double hockey sticks.

become a gynecologist. Once you see babies crawling out of vaginas every day then the magic starts getting less magical.
