Most of us are not inflicted with our sorrows but with other's happiness. Why?

Seeing another person happy invokes the opposite reaction within us. We can't help it it is just the way we are. When someone is jealous they are jealous of you.

Don't know for sure but it may have something to do with our views on ourselves. If we see other people being happy while we are not it may seem as though they have what we don't and that makes us feel inferior. Feelings of inferiority afflict everyone at some point in life no matter who you are.

This is a nice question indeed.
Basically human is a violent creature only. Our pre- historic Archaeological find tells us that we were very much cruel.
In present society we can not eat to each other so we moved towards a less harm-full thinking .we can all it-jealousy .Now every one thinks that why his shirt is brighter than mine?

I have lost to much and gone thru way to much to care any longer.
