Because nobody wants to listen to their mindless rants. That's the beauty of free enterprise.

First reason is that they are on AM in most areas. Also, they do not even pretend to be a fair outlet. There are very few people with radios that think that far to the left. If we start censorship with the fairness doctrine what is next. How can you take away freedom like that?

Too much competition... ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, PBS, NPR, CNN.. big city newspapers. They're diluting their natural audience. This exhumation of the Fairness Doctrine is just a desperate attempt to offset natural market forces in the political arena.

The reason is very simple -- the far majority of Americans do not believe in their overall progressive beliefs and when they get guests which have even more radical beliefs it just makes matters worst. The just don't understand the core beliefs of Americans and the beliefs that made this country great. So over time the majority spoke and it became obvious their's was a lost cause.
I think they may have spent too much time in France!!!

Air America is a failure because people do not want to be subjected to negativity and nastiness all day. Liberals are pathetic leaders and have no concept on how to lead. They sit around and look down on the average person.

Hello.... Reality Check.....
The ratings are low because not many people listen to it... all the Liberals are too busy listening to NPR
Air America's predecessor flopped for the same reason

I think Rush would retire before he would talk on Air America

because the liberals own the MSM media anyway. (and before you start, no not literally but they may as well the way the media kisses their butts.) who needs to hear the same thing on the radio that you can get on any tv channel, and half the internet?

Alex, you've asked a lot of Fairness Doctrine questions lately. Is there a chance it's coming back? I gather you think it's bad, but I haven't been able to discern why. I don't know enough to have a current opinion.

To answer your question: AA isn't funny or enlightening; most libs listen to FM.

(Thanks Ruth.)

The ratings are low for the same reason they lack advertisers. Most America isn't that leftist.

Studbolt, query Fairness Doctrine or "Hush Rush bill" and see how many Democrats are putting it forth right now.

It's bad because it's unConstitutional.

: )

You mean the UN-fairness doctrine? The Liberals have ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN plus all the major newspapers and magazines. Air-head America failed because they have too much competition. Conservative radio and TV is known as the Alternative Media. And there are few outlets. FOX News, Limbaugh, Hannity ,etc. So please, spare me.

An internal memo from ABC Radio Networks to its affiliates reveals scores of powerful sponsors have a standing order that their commercials never be placed on syndicated Air America programming that airs on ABC affiliates.
