I do not see why not. There should not be discrimination against anyone, it should not matter about body type, race, ethnicity, or gender.
There are skinny flight attendants, why not flight attendants overweight?
As long as someone can do their job properly and they have the necessary credentials then I do not see why not. I mean think about this, if someone was underweight and always getting sick they probably would not be hired because they would not be reliable, but I do not see anything wrong with being overweight! If someone does not hire you because of some reason other than your resume then there is a problem and you should inquire how come you did not get the job (if that happens to be the case) and fight it.
Remember sadly people hire those people who are more "attractive" and you know those people do not even have a good resume, then it comes to people perhaps yourself, or whoever you are inquiring for and people like me who will have a good resume but something that is not considered as attractive or you know what I mean, it is wrong for people to discriminate for any reason, if the person applying can do the job and do it well then they deserve the job!
I applied at a grocery store and the interviewer would not even shake my hand when I extended my hand to her. She also assumed that I was not going to be working in the summer because of what I told her of my past vacation habits. I stressed that this job is a permanent one for me and I would not be taking time off anytime soon as I really would love the job, but her assumptions just took over and I did not get the job. Personally I believe it is because of who I am, my identity!(religion), yet I had a good resume and past experience!
I really hope you get this job if you are asking for yourself, or whomever it is for. Good luck

Most airlines have restrictions on how short or heavy a flight attendant can be due to the nature of their job. They have to lift luggage and check in over head compartments and fit in those little seats and walk easily down the aisle squeezing in around people, etc.
Yes, I've known many overweight flight attendants, but there is a restriction about HOW overweight one may be. They can't be obese and do their job.

Sounds well to me xD How do they are compatible down the aisles? It's rough adequate to suit thin flight attendants down the ones matters with men and women's legs, fingers and stuff placing over into the aisle.

It depends on what you mean by overweight. They can be slightly overweight yes, but I think it cant be to the extent that it would interfere with a pleasant appearance or a health hazard to them being stuck on a plane for so long, not to mention those narrow isles

I've seen quite a few that are overweight, but they could be people that have been in the profession for years. Contact the airlines for guidelines. I doubt they can discriminate. I guess how obese is the question ... image is important ... but there are many attractive overweight women in the world and men that love them, and companies that welcome them.

Yes, but then they have to take 3 or 4 people off the plane instead... Profit = Job ? :o)
IMO, There should be no overweight attendants on board for safety reasons.

Maybe chunky but not to chunky after all they do half to move in narrow aisles and are on they're feet during most of the flight. plus if someone is walking in the opposite direction as you and coming your way and you cant move what would you do? I dont know if someone who was over weight could be one, but you never know anything is possible. good luck.

Yes. As long as they can perform the functions of the job. If a company tried to exclude someone based on weight, gender, race, or age, they would be in a hurt of legal trouble.

doubtful. The stresses of the job mean that most flight atendats who are overweight don't make it. The only place where this isn't true is here where fatties, blackies and any people with perceived disabilities can use their victim status to sue.

Depends on the airline, but in some cases, yes. For the yes cases, you have to be able to fulfill the physical requirements and of course, fit in the jumpseat.
