Urine tests aren't always accurate. The most accurate thing is a blood test. If you're 5 days late now, i'd try another home pregnancy test. If it comes back negative, maybe you're just running late. Things like being ill can delay it sometimes. Otherwise, I would consult your doctor and see about a blood test to be sure. Good luck!

Put your mind at rest and go re-test. I took a test on the first day of my missed period and it came out negative, I waited 3 more days and took another one and it was positive. These tests are accurate depending on the amount of pregnancy hormone in your urine at the time of the test. It is recommended to take the test first thing in the morning when the hormone is at its strongest. Good luck with everything.

Well first of all when you get a pap done you bleed. Second of all if your only a few days late a urine test is not really that accurate. I would ask for a blood test which is 100%.

Take another test. The urine test at the drs. is the same as a home preg test, one day last can show a positive, but can easily show a false negative. A blood test could have told you for sure.

The test your doc gives you is very accurate. You are probably getting a little too freaked out and stressed over it- that actually can cause delays (i've been there a couple of times). Give yourself a week and test again. Until then, try not to worry- I'd say you're chances are pretty good that you're not pregnant.

It is not unusual to get a false negative result from a unrine test inthe early days. A drug store test will give you a 99% accurate result from the date that your period was due.
In any case if you do not experience your period youshould see your doctor to investigate the cause.

My last period I was 3 wks late, and I'm not pregnant. Sometimes periods can be unpredictable for many reasons like stress as an example. But if you are still worried, try testing again.

i'd go with the test. we ladies have a way of psyching our bodies to react adversely. our concern over it not coming might be holding it back.
either way, what's done is done. if you are you are.
wait another 5-7days to be sure and then go back to the doctor.
meanwhile, watch your diet and stay clear of alcohol or tobacco.

The test would be accurate and the time you took it, however, you need to take another one (drug store would be good) to put you mind at ease. I sence that is what you will need.
