Ok don't you think that was soooo rude of Simon to make fun of his eyes?!? I mean ok you can comment on someone's fashion choices, and even their actual bad singing voice, but to comment on something that they were born with like big eyes is just wrong. What do u guys and gals think? I thought that was uncalled for and I feel sorry for the guy cause millions of people got to see that!

I believe that the people who audition sign a release form (that allows them to be on TV) BEFORE going into the actual audition. So they have no control over what Simon does/says.

You know what simon should now better. What can you expect from someone that demonstrates bully behaviors. If you think back in elementary school kids would make fun of other kids with abnormality and they were called bullies. Simon is no better unfortunately. I really felt sorry for the kid. To him he is normal and now Simon may have shattered the little pride he has left. I always believed in not making fun of someone because you never know the reason for their abnormality. I recall in Junior high. This girl use to get teased for having very thin hair. I tried comforting her instead of joining the rest of the idiots. She confided in me that she had cancer and that is why her hair was so thin. I then continued to advocate against bullying ever since. It does not make any sense to pick on someone for any reason what so ever. I hear kids today making fun and the first thing I do is reverse it to them and ask them how they would feel if someone told them that. It normally works. Simon will do anything for rating I guess. Hopefully people will stop supporting the show and have the rating decline. What chances of that ever happening. I said my peace.

I did think that was cruel. I also think that I have seen these features before and this fellow's might have been characteristic of a genetic mutation of some kind, not unlike downs syndrome which produces larger tongues and smaller mouths, webbed toes, etc., which makes Simon's remarks all the more horrific. The guy can't help it. It's not like his genetics came with instructions and someone told him to put himself together. I felt really bad for him as well.

My daughter and I were just discussing that very thing! Who knows, maybe the guy had some kind of disease or something, or he was just born with big eyes. There is absolutely no excuse for making fun of someones appearance. I understand that people that audition are putting themselves out to be judged, but it's a SINGING competition not a beauty pageant!

Yes, I think it was rude, too; however, don't you think Simon just speaks out loud what so many of us only think???
And obviously, Simon's behavior tickles all of us, although most people say they don't like him, everyone waits for what he has to say since he is right most of the time!!!
Plus, think about it, don't you think, before airing this, that the producers had to get the okay from the kid, so they won't get sued??? So, I guess, the kid thought it was worth his time and humiliation to have all of the US see him meet Simon and Co, and who is going to forget that one???

yeah, i mean i did laugh, but it was a very mean thing to say. although he did look like a bat boy or something. the guy that he met in line, the one in the red floral shirt that Simon said had Randy's trousers on-i think he had a mental disability. it was pretty obvious, and he did an ok job singing. people like that they shouldn't be rude to at all, and i think they were just alittle to him. that bothered me more.

I agree that it was very rude of Simon to say that. It would have been bad enough to say it after the poor guy left the room, as he would've watched it on TV later, but to say it right to the guy's face was just inexcusable!

Yes, I did feel very badly for him. He seemed like such a nice guy, and then Simon made fun of how he looked. It was terrible.
