But i need more ideas for food, games, decorations etc.

Congrats!

At my shower they got a big basket and loaded it full of things like: baby socks, baby towels, baby lotion, baby soap, baby shoes, hangers, blankets, diapers, diaper cream, and stuff like that. Then they would take one of each of these items and place it into the basket and would pass it around giving each person 15-30 seconds to look over the basket. When the last person finished each person was given a paper with the number blank spaces as items in the basket. They were allowed 1 - 2 minutes to write down what they could remember. After time was up we traded papers and graded them...who ever had the most correct answers won the prize.

Also upon coming into the shower each guest was given a 'diaper' it was actually a small piece of cloth folded like a diaper. It was pinned to each persons shirt. At the end of the party we were all told to take off the diaper and open it and who ever had the 'poopy' (small patch of chocolate) diaper won the prize.

Make the food easy, everybody is going to be ooooing and aaahhing over the baby. Chips and dip, sandwhiches, or a meat and cheese tray, veggies and dip, cake, etc.

By the time your sister is up to having the shower, the baby may not be so mini anymore so it may not be the best idea for a theme. Go with welcoming the baby, and celebrating her birth with pictures (like on the cake, i believe sam's club does that)

Decorations should be simple, balloons, streamers, etc.

Games:

The safety pin, everybody gets a certain number, and are forbidden to do something (cross legs, say baby mother, etc.) ther person who notices someone doing this forbidden thing gets the safety pin. Whoever has the most pins at the end of the shower gets a gift.

Poopy diapers, everybody gets a "poopy diaper" pinned to thier shirt when they walk in(normally just a tissue pinned like a cloth diaper), when the shower is over whoever has the poopy diaper(which is either chocolate or mustard) wins a gift.

Baby drawing, everybody gets a crayon and a paper plate, they are givin 30 seconds to draw a picture of what they think the baby will look like, catch is the plate has to be placed on top of their heads. Whoever has the best drawing gets a gift.

Word Scramble, scramble simple baby themed words (carseat, stroller, basinet, etc.) and whoever gets them all right (or the most of them) wins a prize

advice, give everyone a 3x5 card and tell them to write one simple piece of advise for the new mom, and then read them and make a book out of them for the mom. (its not really a game, but it can be interesting when people write what they think is the best advice ever to give someone.)

In the end im sure your sister will just appreciate the gesture, and im sure she'll be thankful that you even went out of your way to make her shower great for her.

Hope its all fun, and congrats to your family

The only baby shower games I know are as follows...As your sister opens each gift you write down the first thing she says or the first sound she makes upon seeing the gift. After all gifts are opened, you read the list allowed saying that this is what was heard the night the baby was concieved, it's usually oohs and ohhhs and aahhhs. Kinda cute. The second is to buy some diaper pins for cloth diapers and each time someone says "aahhh" then you can take their pin. The person at the end with the most pins wins a prize. Make sure you keep all the bows and ribbons from the gifts she opens and then you attach then to a paper plate and make a decoration for the baby's room.

Games:

Baby Bingo: At the begininning of the shower, hand everyone a bingo card, have them write down gifts they think the mommie/baby has recieved(1 per box) and as she opens the gifts cross off each item, first to yell bingo wins a prize **(at my shower they did this, but they made sure that everyone had some form of a gift at the end of the game)**

Guess how many: Fill a jar with M&M's, Skittles, peppermints, jelly beans or any other form of candy, have each person write there name and how many they think is in the jar.**after all guests have done this, have someone count them, person with closest to w/o going over wins a prize

Motherly Advice : Upon arriving, each guest is given an index card and to write a question a new mother would ask (example: How can I stop my baby from crying?) Then during the shower, these same cards are passed back out to the guests only face down so questions cannot be seen by anyone.Guests are to write the answer to the question on the back that they placed on their card from the beginning. Then someone can read question from the front and then answer on the back

Clothes Pin/Saftey Pin : As each guest arrives give them one of the choosen pins. Rules: you can not say baby, mommy, or cross your legs(in any way-ankels, leg on knee) if you say or do one the person who catches you takes your pin, at the end of the shower, person with the most pins wins a prize.

Themes:
**My suggestion is to not go with the tiny foods, because that may cause pain for the new mother**

A Star is born : Decorate in gold, silver and navy and fill a star-shaped basket with baby items, small gifts, flowers, or just about anything you can think of for a cute centerpiece. And for a special touch they'll never forget, name a star after baby at the Star Registry

Rubber Ducky: Fill up the punch bowl and add a few drops of blue color...your Rubber Duckies will need a fab centerpiece to swim in! Decorate with yellow and blue and stock up on the floating ducks...you just might want to make this a cheese and quackers kind of Shower!

Outdoor Shower: There's no excuse to have the Shower indoors if you've got beautiful weather outdoors! Get out the frisbees, water balloons and sunglasses and take the party outside! Set up a little balloon volleyball with a net of streamers and turn those frisbees upside down to hold paper plates loaded with your favorite barbeque fixings. Toss in a few outdoor Baby Games, and you've got a ton of summertime fun!

Vintage Baby Shower: Start with an old-fashioned tea party with mini tea sandwiches and cookies - and serve the tea in delicate vintage teacups or an old-fashioned silver teapot and tray! Next, find a lace tablecloth to lay over a solid pink (or blue) tablecloth and see how many old black and white photos you can find of family and friends to put in silver frames to set around the room or on the food table. Send home tiny vintage teacups as favors

~~If she has already decorated the baby's room in a certain theme, go with that.

* Some classics are: Pooh Bear, Disney, Farm Animals, Baby Feet, Care Bears.
* Since it is a baby girl, you could do the pink theme. All little girlie type things, frills, lace, etc.

Best thing is to not have something overwhelming, seeing as the baby was just born, mom may not feel up to having a shower at all. Talk to her first, let her be in on the details, just not all of them!!!

Even though you know it's a girl, don't go all pink, try soft, pastel colors. If there's a Party City and Babies R Us near you, they're the best places for decorations ("Precious Moments" is a great example). Books and magazines have great food ideas, although a barbecue never fails. Or try a potluck, ask guests to bring their favorite party dish. I don't really know that many baby shower games, although I heard that a popular one was placing food items that have a scent in disposable diapers with numbers on them, blindfolding guests and have them smell inside the diapers, then write down what they think each one has and whoever gets the most correct guesses is the winner.

mini theme might be too hard on your sister right now, depending on the health of her little one. as for plain shower ideas, the best one i had was a growth theme. everyone was given an age to buy from in your case the preemie, then newborn, 3-6 months, 6-9 months and so one. this way we had diapers and clothes for every stage she was in and didn't have an ooops moment. also we weren't overloaded with newborn outfits and such that went to waste because she couldn't wear them all. she is a year old and we are stil bringing out new stuff from my shower. it was the best idea i'd ever heard of.

as far as games i enjoyed one where several small items such as thermometer, diaper cloth, medical syringe, nail trimmers, etc.. were all place in seperate bags and the guests had to feel to guess what they were and i was awarded them at the end of the game. diaper cakes aren't as hard as they look and are very useful. also taking the labels off of baby food and having the guests taste them and guess what they are has always been fun.

At my shower we played a lot of the games people mentioned above. But one.
It is called the poopy diaper. You take about 6 - 8 diapers and put 6 -8 different melted candy bars (butterfinger, snickers etc) in them. You pass the diapers around and you have to guess what candy bar is in that diaper. You can smell and look but no tasting. You determine the winner by how many they got right. It was so much fun. We had a lot of laughs and a lot of pics. Just to see a bunch of woman sniffing diapers. :o)
Hope everything turns out great.

I gave a baby shower a year ago and the game that was the best was of course the poopy diaper game..where you put different chocolates in a diaper and they have to figure out what candy it is..

I really enjoyed the Cotton Ball Game..2 at a time play (its a race)

You get 2 big bowls and 2 big spoons or spatulas...Spread out a bunch of cotton balls over the game table..Blindfold the players..and see who can scoop up the most cotton balls in 30 sec.Whoever has the most Wins.

Have Fun!!

I don't know about the mini theme. Also find out if she is up for this right now. if the answer is yes then keep to a regular theme and treat her like the new mother she is. Finger foods are always good. Games such as the clothes pin game are played all of the time. Decorations with a baby girl theme would be the easiest. Good luck!!
