No. you are not eternal. Energy will die. A point of view will be replaced with a new one and then where will you be? Right back to being nothing...

I believe that this means that you~we are eternal in the sense that we has humans understand. The spirit remains unchanged throughout time. Reading in several different spiritual books, be it the Christian bible, the Jewish bible, the Islamic bible, etc...The spirit(s) involved in all of the books are forever eternal beings.
Another interesting concept is in all of the myths from around the world; look at their connections. The stories are similar. Could these be stories about the same spirits who have traveled from place to place? The Yoruba of Africa have a religion about a God called Oladumare and all of the gods and goddesses involved in this religion resemble in some way the gods and goddesses of the Greek myths.
These gods and goddesses are spirits, around for eternity.
Speaking of "energy", I am a Reiki practitioner, and I believe that energy is eternal. The flow is unending.

Pertaining to the entire question, yes "energy", "spirit", whatever you might wish to call it is eternal. But concerning you, the being from which this question was formulated are not eternal. The being from which this question came is a collection of all the experiences (for which their may or may not be built a collection of emotions negative or positive). Now the purity of the question itself cannot be doubted, the truth is the truth. Through quantum physics we are beginning to find that the "mystical" ideas that have been present throughout human history are extremely valid. Now whether this truth has been a question of importance or impertinence to you, the answers have profound new validity. The prior Newtonian duality of all things has been debunked by the laborious experiments completed by many re-knowned physicists. Their many experiments and their many profound findings have been a build up of scientific "back-up" of these energy "theories" created by religions.

You, or rather who you think you are (ego) and your body, are not eternal, but the Spirit, the one and only Spirit which moves all things in the universe and is yet unmoved, and which breathes life into all things and gives each thing its "essence", is Eternal. I think you might like Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception, and Moksha. Give him a read, definitely hits the nail on the head with his explanation of the practically same question.

The spirit within YES, the outer shell and attributes NO. However the answer is questionable and debatable. The truth is of this question can not be measured, as no unbiased source has identified it.
Please note that your brain is the center of perception and is responsible for your "point of view" but your spirit, just is "I AM" that is what continues.
Best wishes on your quest!

Well, I am of the belief that we are spiritual Beings having a physical experience. I think that there are many things about spirit/immortality that are very simple, yet not at all easy to understand and apply due ti the limitations of our understanding and finite reference. Discovering one's own immortality is easy, living this finite life in a manner that is most productive to our soul is not at all easy.

Yeah, but TREEs are eternal too, though each is different.
And how trained are you? Can you quiet your body/mind and identify more with your spirit? If so, you don't need to ask and you know you will never die.

Yes. There are so many philosophical terms that characterize the word. Intellect is one, soul is another, ghost is also. They are all eternal.
