I see this in the paper on a weekly basis. A guy gets caught stealing for whatever reason and goes to jail for a few years but a child molester gets caught and gets probation.

Why does our justice system seem to favor molesters? Do politicians, judges, and jurys not have children? Are there payoffs to the judges from the hospitals that administer the "help" that the molesters get that never does any good?

Why can't our judicial system work to protect our children by locking up (or even better..killing) molesters. After all it's been said that when a child is molested it scars them for life.

I totally agree with you. I don't understand how it happens. They are just put back on the street, left to molest more children. I think they should be locked up for good once they commit that horrible crime.

It is also the same with people that kill children. I don't understand how you get life in prison or the death sentence for killing an adult, but then you get 6 months to 6 years for killing a child. I guess this country is saying that children simply don't mean as much as adults.

I did my Master's Thesis on parents who kill their children. It is just sick what people can get away with!

Everything depends on the Defendant. If we are talking about how the judge actually sentences the defendant, there are alot of factors. Having a criminal record is the main factor. Get caught stealing one time in your entire life, you ARE NOT going to jail for any longer than a first time child molester. Thats America, we give passion for one time screw ups. Obviously the one time molester should get alot more time since its a harsher offense. We do not put molesters to death because death was never involved in the crime, and if it is then they are sentence to death usually. Protecting our children is what America is all about. We all love children, but America is also a forgiving country that shows mercy to those that are guilty of crimes.

This answer depends on the laws of the state you live in and the criminal record of the accused.....

If a person is a habitual offender , he's gonna get more time cause he does not get it that crime does not pay...This crime is defined as a misdemeanor or felony depending on the dollar amount of the stolen items.

On the other hand , if a person is accused of a felony which molestation usually is , and has never been convicted of a crime before , his chances of being released to the streets following his initial bond arraignment are real good.........But , the District Attorney can argue for a really high bond to keep it as difficult as possible for the accused to get out of jail.......

believe it or not the criminal justice system works...It's the laws that have to be changed......The system can't run without the laws that fuel it ......so, believe me ...
vote for changes, petition your legislators etc. ......To get what you need.....

I think our laws need to be changed. Problem is....there are molesters within the judicial and political systems. They're in our schools, police stations, and medical systems. You can find them in daycares and you might even find one in your family! They are everywhere! They're sick in the head and need to have their life ended or be castrated so life as they know it, ends for them. I don't give a rat's a$$ if they are sexually abused in prison or treated worse than other criminals! They deserve everything that comes their way and more should be in prison for a much longer stay.

Molestation of children occurs more frequently than many people realize. We are just now starting to talk about it openly, but it's been occurring for thousands of years!

IMHO sex offenders are the least rehabilitative individuals and it is a waste of the taxpayer's dollars to provide counseling and therapy. Statistics show that they usually return to their "old ways" once the heat is off. Most do not change their life or way of thinking. They are worthless individuals with a perverted sexual deviance.

That is not the case. In most states laws are quite harsh when it comes to child molesting. In fact alot of things are just plainly unconstitutional when it comes to this issue. People just like b!ching about this because it gives them someone to look down on. It makes them feel good about themselfs and most every one will agree that child molesting is bad. So I hope this has made you feel good now you can get off your high horse and see the world as it really is.

there is an entirely different body of government inside the walls of a prison. When a prisoner is accused of child molestation sometime he or she pays with their lives in the jail. Other times they get raped themselves. That's a lot of punishment trust me. Do I agree with a shorter sentence no, but they pay a lot more than a common criminal.

because the judges always refuse to see the pictures so they take the crime lightly when actually this crime make the victim scarred for life. Child molestation needs to be a life sentence!

I wonder about this also, Child molesters should get a mandatory death sentence. I'm starting to wonder if the judges are pedophiles themselves.

I agree. I find it agonizing to watch. I saw something about it on The O'Riely factor(I don't like his show much I mostly watch it to disagree with him...lol). But on this occasion he did make a good point. We can't just sit around and complain to ourselves. If you live in a state where this has happened we need to go and complain to people who can make changes to these stupid laws.

You would think a pedophile would get more jail time than a thief. It's just sad what this worlds coming to.
