Among rockers, Phil Collins is by far the most sophisticated, with the best & most versatile technique (offended Neil Peart loving drummers should try to play Dance on a Volcano off A Trick of the Tale before they even think of saying something), but that doesn't even begin to touch jazzers, of whom Omar hakim toyed around with rock, too.

Nobody plays like Neil Peart from Rush...I've been playing drums for 16 years and I still can't do some of the stuff he did, Tommy Lee is easy, Joey from Slipknot is joke...if you wanna hear the best get some live Rush stuff and listen to Neil.

In my opinion, Vinny Appice is the best rock drummer ever. He has worked with the bands Dio and Black Sabbath.
