Sexual reproduction allows for genetic recombination (producing offspring with new combinations of genes) because the gametes or reproductive cells from two parents join together. Genetic recombination is good because it allows the offspring to have variation, possibly allowing some of them to survive when others cannot survive.

Asexual reproduction produces offspring that are genetically identical to the parent. This doesn't allow for variation in the offspring, so none of the offspring have any particular advantage if conditions are not good. An advantage of asexual reproduction is that it's a fast method of producing more individuals in the population. Another advantage is that many species reproduce asexually when environmental conditions are good. If conditions are good for the parent, then conditions will also be good for the offspring since they are genetically the same.

Genetic recombination vs. cloning; more specifically meiotic reproduction (bacterial recombination isn't usually referred to as sex, though in some contexts it might, for convenience). Asexual reproduction is more productive in terms of number of offspring in the short term. Often referred to as the "two-fold cost of sex."

i don't mind helping with homework questions but you got to do some of the work. sexual would be dna from two parents combined to make an offspring. asexual would be an animal that just divides to create an offspring. for the advantage you have to think that up yourself

sexual reproduction leads to diversity, and therefore evolution adn adaptation
asexual is almost like inbreeding, where less change in genetics occurs
sry, haven't taken bio in two years
