buying a new computer is easier but alot more expensive but getting a new motherboard and a new cpu is cheaper but you have to replug all the power conectors to the motherboard make sure your video card hd and cd-dvd drives and RAM are compativle computer = easyer/more exepensive
new motherboard/cpu=way harder/more cheaper

a p3 is still good it averages from 600mhz to 900 mhz on certaint p3 processors. but its better to get a new computer system starting from 400 dollars. up grading the processor may not work. for example a p3 processor 600 mhz can be upgraded up to 900 mhz pending. but its easier to buy a new computer. i bought one for 400 just the tower brand new. a compaq some people dont like it but it'll do for now.

You can buy a new motherboard and CPU.. but I can assure you your current memory, power supply, and video card will not work with it. Your other devices will be quite slow (If they will in fact work)
our monitor, mouse and keyboard should work no problem. Your CD-rom should be ok, but you can get a faster one for about $20. You can get a DVD writer for about $30...

Once you buy the new motherboard + CPU , you pretty much have a new pc.

Why waste money for a case since you already have one.

Obviously you have to make sure your new motherboard will fit your other existing components, so it is more work for you.
