Okay first look at 2,760,389 as 2,760,380.0 same thing right? I just put a decimal point there.

To put it into scientific notation you move the decimal point to the left until there is only one number on the left side and you then multiply it by ten to the #of times you moved the decimal point power

So 2.750389x 10 to the 6th

when you multiply something by 10, the decimal point shifts one place to the right. ie if you multiply 12.34 by 10 you get 123.4

10 = 10^1 (10^1 is read "ten to the power 1")
10^2 (this is actually 10 x 10 = 100 and is read "ten to the power 2" or "10 squared" or 10 exponent 2 etc)
10^3 = 1000

Scientific notation is a notation where numbers are expressed like

n.nnnn x 10^m where n and m are digits

So the answer to your question would be
2.750389 x 10^6 because this would equal 2,750,389 when you shift the decimal point 6 places to the right.
