Well, for starters, I'd go "Old School" and suggest the Specials. They've been around for a long, long time, but they're really cool. Listen to "Friday Night, Saturday Morning". The lyrics are fun and easy to learn and they've got a cute Brit accent. There's also the Skatalites' "Eastern Standard Time". It's a basic ska instrumental. Really fun to listen to... Hope that's to your liking :-)

Don't forget Madness, there are also "ska" flavored songs from the punk era, The Clash's "Police and Thieves", Elvis Costello's "watching the detectives" Joe Jackson's "Pretty Boys". My Fav from The Specials is "Concrete Jungle"

The Planet Smashers are a wonderful ska band from Montreal. They've been around for several years now, and I've seen them live. They are very good.
