its not based on race, its based on the society they grew up in along with significant outside influences. for example whatever your race, if ur parent is an abusive alcoholic it will influence you to create an increased probability of you being like that as well.
if you grew up in a society of even a family where minimum work was expected, you will probably have the same traits and maybe pass them on to ur kids.
if you grow up in iraq or afganistan if the current situation prevails, the fact that the place has a lot of people with people with guns who kill indiscriminately will rub off on you. if iraq and afganistan were perfectly peaceful countries, you might grow up a pacifist.
race if not the factor, society is.

No. It's the enviroment that effects their behavior. Some evironmental include but not limited to:
1) economic situation
2) education
3) family interaction
4) influence by peers
5) religion/culture

Personality is shaped by the way you are brought up. If you grow up in a rough neighbor were it is acceptable to kill others, the child may up to do the same. Children exposed to domestic violence tend to become aggressive and may become batterers themselves, creating a vicious cycle. There is no simple answer to why people act the way they do. The only way race plays a factor is how society treats certain groups. Often, certain minority socioeconomically at a disadvantage. Out of desperation, those minoritities are more likely to commit crimes because they don't have the opportunities that the usually wealthier majority enjoys.

Of course not. It depends on the way a person is raised, etc. I know this first hand. And what, exactly, type race are you referring to?

Wow, from reading these answers, you can see how racist America truly is. This is ridiculous. I know first hand, because I am a black person, who has been adopted by two white parents, who happen to be somewhat affluent, and both are very well educated. I am also well educated, and this obviously has everything to do with environment, not race. I am not out "dealing drugs" as some of you claim all blacks do, or "locked up". This is such an idiotic question, that I feel a little sick to my stomach even answering it, but I feel I must.

Please, Please, PLEASE for the love of all that is HOLY, open a book, read it, and educate yourself. It is this underhanded bigotry, that is shaping the future generations. Certain people may not come out in the open with racist comments any longer, but it is still very deeply rooted. Maybe what should really be taken into account is the fact that the group (I'm sure) of people you are discussing, are a people that have only had even basic American civil rights for the last 40 years. It does not compare to generations of white Americans who have been able to do what they want, send their children to be educated in the way they want, and the list goes on, since the start of the United States

All races have their traits. This is inherent but as time evloves each have to better themselves and imprtove their lot.

Some are good at it whilst others seem to make a bad situation worse.

For Examples

The white race will always exploit and explore
but they are not greedy but of course there will always be a minority who will abuse, exploit, cheat and hood wink the rest of the world, that they are all great and mighty.

They generally like to enjoy life and live it to its full at the expense of others

The asians are generally hard working by nature and tend to survive in most circumstances. Family oriented and tend to keep to themselves.

The blacks are evovling as a new breed of hard working and intelligent especially in US but sadly there is large majority that are still neglected not by the whites but more importantly but the very wealthy blacks themselves.

This is the same in Africa where the wealthy are incredible well off and the the rest are totally neglected. Nigeria is a classic example as it is rooted in corruption ...for the 419 scam is its greatest export. It is time for black leaders to realise that they have to help themselves rather than look at other races to help them.

These are just my oberservations

Yes, otherwise where do racial stereotypes come from? This is not to say that everone of a certain race acts a certain way.

For example, the British are viewed in Europe as warmongers but I don't think we're an especially violent people.

Thanks Tony.... :-(

Woo what a question. It might bring out some bigotry and stereotyping in a lot of people...I don't know exactly if certain races are predisposed to certain behavior, but I do think social status/education has a greater impact on ethic, chemical dependency and violence than racial grouping.

To quote Black Sheep (I think it was Black Sheep), "Kill Whitey!"
Just kidding.

I used to think this, but that was before I had the opportunity of international travel. There are black citizens (subjects?) of Saudi Arabia who have absolutely nothing in common with black citizens of the USA. There are also white citizens/subjects of Saudi Arabia who have nothing in common with white citizens of the USA.

White citizens of the US behave quite differently from the white citizens of Uzbekistan, etc.

I could go on and on with many other takes on this, but the bottom line is always that culture is what matters, not race.

Everyone has the ability to be normal. But some just are better at being lazy, thieves, and pedophiles.

Yes, but if you say so publicly using specific examples you will be crucified by the politically correct morons who will see yet more imaginary racism.
