I have a general POA for my husband since he is in Iraq. I need to get a replacement title for his truck because he is giving the truck to his Dad and the Dad needs to register it in his state, but can't do so without the title. If I fill out the replacement title form and put in all the correct info will I be able to have it notarized if I have the POA?

Forgot to mention that the truck is in my husband's name. That's why I am asking. :)

Oh yeah and I forgot to add...the original title is lost. Hubby has no clue where it is.

Wait, the truck is over 10 years old. Are you sure we don't need a title? What do I have to do in order to give his dad ownership of the vehicle?

Yes, a general power of attorney basically allows you to act on his behalf on any matters while he is gone. They will likely want a copy of the POA when you turn in the form. Basically, you are him while he is away.

It is a lot of of power to have one. But, very common in your situation.

yes, yes , yes....if the truck is over ten years old, you do not even need the title by the way, w/ the p.o.a. , you can simply write out a bill of sale, signing both you and your husbands names etc..

POA lets you sign as if you are him. You can do anything he could do in person. He must trust you! (Former Army wife).
