I actually used to feed mine dehydrated tuber worm cubes.....the cubes would float around the top until the snails cornered them and chowed down. A friend of mine actually had snails that would come to the surface to be hand fed algae-wafers.This was fun to watch but not done on a daily basis. Generally they eat what the find.

I have 5 large snails in one of my tanks. Each evening I make sure that I place a large lettuce (no ice berg lettuce as it has no nutritional value) leaf into the tank. Other times I blanche thinly cut Zucchini slices...I like to try other veggies but need to read up on this first.

I don't feed my apple snails anything special. They just eat whatever they can't find. It not like they eat like fish which respond instantly to food, rather when they move they move the gravel and use their beak to pick up stuff, also they use there beak to scrape off algea. I would worry b/c they eat whatever your fish don't eat when you feed them.

In the wild, they're nocturnal. Try feeding him at night when the lights are out. Also, he's probably eating enough leftover flakes and algae. Unless he's just sitting there in one spot not moving, then he's dead....

How long have you had them? They could be getting used to their new environment. What are your water parameters (ie: ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph)? Are they even cruisin around the tank or are they staying closed up in thier shells?
